Meet the awesome humans that make up the Cue crew.

Tell us about yourself

I'm Amelia and I am an Account Executive at Cue. I am based in Surrey, just south of London.

Tell us about your journey to Cue

I started my sales career at age 18 at Mercedes-Benz. After that, I looked for a new challenge and worked in Business Development for a FinTech company. I then wanted to experience a true start-up environment and joined a sports event marketplace as their 2nd sales hire which was a fun experience!

Before joining Cue, I was an Account Executive for a learning and development business which I later left to join the amazing Cue. I have such varied experience, which I find really helps me relate to prospects across different industries.

What's it like working fully remotely with the UK and SA teams?

Working remotely is great as it allows me to work to my full potential while still enjoying some work-life balance during the working day.

The team is really well connected over Slack and Google Meet. I probably speak to my colleagues more while working remotely than in the office, as it's so easy to communicate over Slack!

What do you do outside of work?

Outside of work, I go to the gym almost every day and spend a lot of time outside on walks or going for hikes. I love seeing friends for drinks on weekends and spend much time with my hilarious (and extremely cute) 5-year-old nephew.

Have there been any interesting or funny moments between you and the South African team?

I have had to Google several slang words to understand what's been said, such as Ryan Egnos saying "lekker".

What was the last good book, podcast, blog, or film that you consumed?

I love self-help and psychology books. I am currently reading "You Are A Badass" and loving it. It's all about getting the most from life and not holding yourself back.

What does a typical day look like for an Account Executive at Cue?

My time has been very busy with demos since day one, so it's a constant mix of demoing our solution to new prospects and actively finding new leads to discuss Cue with.

What skills and attributes does someone need to succeed in sales?

Time management, organisation, resilience and hunger to succeed.

What advice would you give to a young salesperson or someone interested in this career?

Go for it!

Get stuck in and learn as much as you can as quickly as you can. Don't be afraid to make mistakes, as they are what you learn and develop from. Sales is a career where you get out what you put in—work hard, and the rewards can be huge!

Describe the Cue culture in three words

Fun, supportive, and driven.
